Our Approach

We believe fashion should be beautiful, responsible, and designed with longevity in mind. Our approach focuses on reducing environmental impact, increasing transparency, and supporting circular fashion practices. Through thoughtful fabric sourcing, responsible production, and circular partnerships, we aim to continually improve how our collections are made and how they live beyond the first wear.

WE’RE BUILDING A MORE SUSTAINABLE FUTURE

RESPONSIBLE PRODUCTION

Ethical Manufacturing

We work closely with our manufacturing partners to ensure responsible production at every stage.

  • All factories are fully audited (Sedex SMETA and Amfori BSCI)
  • We maintain transparency across our supply chain, publishing our supplier list via Open Supply Hub.
  • All suppliers follow our Code of Practice, aligned with ILO conventions, ETI Base Code and OECD guidelines.
  • All our factories are REACH compliant.
  • We partner with factories to support ongoing certification and increase sustainable and ethical business practices.

Lower Impact Shipping

Transport is a key contributor to our environmental footprint, so we are actively reducing our reliance on air freight.

  • Sea freight shipments have increased from 42% in 2022 to almost 80% by AW25.
  • Sea freight produces significantly fewer carbon emissions than air transport and is our preferred shipping method whenever timelines allow

Circular Fashion

We believe every garment should have a life beyond a single wear.

Extending Garment Life

We encourage our customers to keep their pieces in rotation through:

  1. Alterations and tailoring
  2. Re-wearing and restyling

Giving Back

We partner with the Salvation Army to encourage charitable giving and donation of unused clothing from our consumer's wardrobe.

DONATE CLOTHES HERE

Reuse & Resale

We partner with circular fashion platforms to extend the lifecycle of our designs:

  • Hirestreet: enabling rental for occasionwear
  • By Rotation: supporting peer-to-peer rental

At our Headquarters

  • Reduced single-use plastic by removing the need for disposable plastics and providing reusable alternatives such as cutlery, bowls and utensils for everyday use.
  • Transition to energy-efficient LED lighting
  • Office-wide recycling schemes to minimise landfill waste

Digital Printing

We are actively shifting from screen printing to digital printing across the majority of our products. This ensures we're reducing fabric waste, using fewer chemicals and conserving water in the process.

Animal Welfare

At Pretty Lavish, we have introduced an animal welfare policy to ensure no animal-derived materials or by-products are used in our collections, supporting our commitment to transparent and ethical practices. All suppliers must sign our Animal Welfare Policy to ensure that none of the below restricted items is used to create Pretty Lavish products.

We do not use:

  1. Leather or suede
  2. Wool, cashmere or mohair
  3. Fur, feathers or down
  4. Shell, bone, horn or ivory

Looking ahead: 2026 and beyond

Sustainability is a journey, not a destination. We are continually exploring new ways to reduce our impact, improve material transparency, and support circular fashion.

Our focus going forward is on:

  1. Increasing certified and recycled materials
  2. Expanding circular and pre-loved initiatives
  3. Reducing emissions across our supply chain
  4. Improving transparency and traceability
